Crested Serpent-Eagle (Spilornis cheela)
Winter morning at Ranthambore, lowest temperature recorded yet, ~2°C, and the forest covered in fog.
A silent and suspense scene from a thriller movie, and there it was; a majestic and brawny Crested Serpent-Eagle appeared. Perching on the branch, piercing through the fog.
Even though the safari jeeps passed below it, the concentration didn't break.

Bronzed frog or Günther's golden-backed frog (Indosylvirana temporalis)
Under the substantial canopy, over the calm stream; a ray of the afternoon sunlight wriggled its way through the small gaps between the branches, and the shiny bronzed back of this beautiful frog lustered softly.

Nature's one of the most talented architect, the Baya Weaver (Ploceus philippinus).
In my garden, there are two coconut trees, with thier dense umbrella like leaves, providing shade during the summer and nutritious coconuts.
The long and strong leaves act as a perfect foundation for the weaver bird nests. I am so fortunate to play host to these beautiful birds, and got to witness their colony.
Most interesting sight was that one of the houses was two floored and was located at the center of their colony.

Rufous Treepie
At Ranthambore, these rufous treepies are accustomed to the jeeps full of tourists, and without any fear, often still on the bars.
In this picture, while we were waiting at the main entrance to Gate 3, this guy hops onto the bar of our jeep, posing for a lady. Here it seems as if he was checking if the picture she took was good.
