THAMBILI / තැඹිලි collection is starting.
Named after the king coconut, the orange roadside fruit of heat, thirst and slow afternoons.
My eye kept returning to Sri Lankan handloom cotton: the kind of cloth you see in lungis, sarongs, bedsheets, rooms, and coastal drying lines.
Familiar cloth.
Everyday island cloth.
Already alive here.
Today the first sample took shape: marked, cut, stitched, signed by the hands that made it.
This collection reimagines these fabrics into loose shirts, shorts and small coastal things for Jarana.
Small run only.
THAMBILI
Everyday island cloth, from Lanka to Lanka.
Coming slowly to our selected stores.
