Our first morning near our stay began with a quiet walk through the nearby farmlands. As the soft morning light filtered through a thin blanket of clouds, the rolling hills slowly came alive, creating one of those peaceful moments that make you stop and simply take it all in.

Diskit Monastery in Nubra Valley is situated at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 kilometers northwest off the Khalsar-Panakil route, right at the edge of the desert in the Nubra Valley.
