Buying advice for a friend. D750 vs D500.
Wants to shoot landscape and macro.

for the new camera which you are planning to buy,
1. Advantage of a FX frame.
A. More and better landscape lenses are made for FX sensors.
B. The large sensor size will capture more details as the image formed by FX lenses is bigger.
The details of a building/forest/faces of fifty people standing etc will be cleaner.
C. Large sensor size also means better macro, many a times I can not fit a shield bug or some bugs in the frame because there is not enough space. I use FX lenses on a DX body by the way.
D. FX sensor will act as 1.5 to twice the ISO equivalent of a DX sensor. More light at all apertures means good for macro again as those are shot on f8-f57 small apertures.
E. Lenses can be used on your DX camera if you don't sell it.
Disadvantages: A. FX lenses will be 3-10times costlier and heavier as well.
B. No tilt screen.
ButExceptions are manual lenses which are super light to the point that the combination will be lighter than any other combination and they also have an APERTURE RING :) are brighter as well. but you can only use these in manual mode.
TIP: D750 is lightest FX, and cheaper than D500.
D610 has dropped in price to MRP 90k.
2. Buying D500.
A. Its performance is presumed to be better than all the cameras
Except the 810 and the flagship model in terms of speed and processing power.
B. Wifi, tilt and everything.
C. 4k video. This also will give you more money than anything if rented to a video Grapher.
D. Crop factor. Your 50mm will act like 75mm.
E. You don't have to sell away your 18-200 lens.
F. File size of D500 is lesser than any other Nikon DSLR's in production. So you'll get longer reel length.
G. Consider D5300
Cons: A. Small sensor.
B. Less lenses. Only super wide is 10-24 I think, costs 26k.
Tips : A. Only buy if you are going to use all the awesome features right away. That's why you spend loads of money.
If you are not, then save for another time. Tech will be cheaper.
B. If you are buying for professional use, then see in terms of which camera will help you get back the investment fastest.
C. If you buy D500, then you'll not be able to use it like a D500 without high speed SD cards way higher than class 10 alone.
You'll require write speeds of 90MB/s for 4k Recording. I'm having 70MB/s cards which go pretty slow sometimes.
You'll require even faster cards like 240MB/s For continuous shooting capabilities of D500.
Buy at least one card of around 5k rupees, Sony or which ever brand you prefer without which your camera will be forced to work like a D7100.
Because supplied cards will support 4k for promotion but may not be able to Handle the burst mode.
D. Which ever camera you buy, Prepare to have more cards and and a portable hard disk because you'll be surprised how soon they fill up.
E. DSLR's are not video cameras, so don't pan and or zoom while video recording.
F. Nikon's in camera editing is faster than 40k computers.
G. Prepare to have a heart of stone and delete all the images which are not best.
F. Click DPOF on best images/videos, delete the rest by date.
G. Have iPhone or Android, no solutions from nikon for windows phones.
H. Its like a marriage, be content with whatever you buy.
I. Visit a Nikon showroom
J. Buy from a local registered dealer, will give you better price than showroom if you can wait.
This will also give you two years India warranty.
Buying online will give you one year international warranty instead.
