Mist and the Bull !

Blue Bull (Female).
The nilgai is the largest Asian antelope and is ubiquitous across the northern Indian subcontinent. It is the sole member of the genus Boselaphus and was described by Peter Simon Pallas in 1766. The nilgai stands 1–1.5 m at the shoulder; males weigh 109–288 kg, and the lighter females 100–213 kg. Nilgai can weigh up to 700 lbs., stand 4'5” at shoulder and be up to 6.6 ft long. Nilgai are challenging to hunt, they have good eyesight, hearing and sense of smell and spook easily. Nilgai antelopes live in dry areas with a variety of land types. They range from grassy, steppe woodlands, to hillsides. In India, they occur in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains southward to Mysore. The brush country of South Texas is well suited to their natural preferences.

A splashed hunt !

Great cormorant.
The great cormorant, known as the black s**g in New Zealand and formerly also known as the great black cormorant across the Northern Hemisphere, the black cormorant in Australia, and the large cormorant in India, is a widespread member of the cormorant family of seabirds. Like other cormorants, the Great Cormorant feeds mainly on fish, supplemented in freshwater by crustaceans, various aquatic insects and frogs. The Great Cormorant is an excellent swimmer and captures its food in shallow underwater dives, normally lasting up to one minute.Cormorants are expert divers. Some dive as deep as 45 metres (150 feet). They speed along underwater via their webbed feet, using their wings as rudders. Some colonies of cormorants have been observed herding fish for more efficient hunting.

A Rosy Flight!

Rosy Pelicans.
The great white pelican also known as the eastern white pelican, rosy pelican or white pelican is a bird in the pelican family. It breeds from southeastern Europe through Asia and Africa, in swamps and shallow lakes.Great White pelicans are carnivores (piscivores), they eat fish, mainly cichlids and carp and also small invertebrates. The chicks become fledglings at around 65 – 75 days. Pelicans reach sexual maturity at 3 – 4 years. The life span of the Great White Pelican can be over 16 years old.The great white pelican is highly sociable and often forms large flocks. It is well adapted for aquatic life. The short strong legs and webbed feet propel it in water and aid a rather awkward takeoff from the water surface. In-flight, it is an elegant soaring bird, with the head held close to and aligned with the body.

Predators of Keoladeo Ghana!

Golden Jackal.
The golden jackal is a wolf-like canid that is native to Eastern Europe, Southwest Asia, South Asia, and regions of Southeast Asia.Golden jackals consume 54% animal food and 46% plant food. They are opportunistic foragers with a very varied diet, which consists of young gazelles, rodents, (especially during winter), hares, ground birds and their eggs, reptiles, frogs, fish, insects and fruit. They take carrion on occasion. The golden, or common, jackal lives in open savannas, deserts, and arid grasslands. Side-striped jackals are found in moist savannas, marshes, bushlands, and mountains. Golden jackals are key scavengers in their home range. They consume garbage and carrion around villages and towns. Also, they control the numbers of prey populations. Thus, they benefit agriculture, feeding upon rodents and lagomorphs.

The Migrants!

Dalmatian Pelicans.
The Dalmatian pelican is the largest member of the pelican family, and perhaps the world's largest freshwater bird, although rivaled in weight and length by the largest swans. They are elegant soaring birds, with wingspans that rival that of the great albatrosses, and their flocks fly in graceful synchrony. Large gulls are known to be virulent predators of Dalmatian pelican eggs in Russia, Albania and Turkey.Because of this IUCN has downlisted the conservation status of Dalmatian Pelicans from Vulnerable to Near Threatened in 2017 (BirdLife International 2018). There is a distinct geographic population of this species in East Asia that only breeds in a small part of western Mongolia.
