Southern India Trip
Date : 14th Dec 2024

SLIDE 1: MONOLITHIC NANDI - THE GIGANTIC BULL IS A GRAND CUT OUT SCULPTURE OF A HUGE GRANITIC ROCK.
THIS MONOLITHIC SCULPTURE IS A UNIQUE EXAMPLE OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY. IT FACES WEST AND IS LOOKING TOWARDS THE NAGALINGA LOCATED BEHIND THE VEERABHADRA TEMPLE. IT IS 10 METRE IN LENGTH AND OF 06 METRE HEIGHT.
DATABLE TO CIRCA SIXTEENTH CENTURY AND STYLISTICALLY BELONGS TO VIIAYANAGARA PERIOD.

SLIDE 2 : NAGALINGA , located behind Veerabhadra Temple. Linga canopied by a seven hooded Naga.

SLIDE 3: SHIVA-PARVATI KALYANMANDAPAM- Incomplete because of lack of funds at that time. Erected pillars have beautiful carvings of different deities such as INDRA,AGNI,VAYU,VARUN,KUBER, NANDI etc..

This was taken during my recent trek to Pandav Leni top. The way up was close to hell but the view was worth every drop of sweat I shed.

This trek also taught me a lot. Here are my learnings..

1. Don't go on impromptu treks,
Specially wearing floaters.
2. Always have some food with you.
ALWAYS!!!!!!!
3. Overconfidence can cause serious
Injury.
4. Don't take photographs of random
dudes you meet on treks and give
them your No. So that they can bug
You for pics 10 times a day.

It's been a while since I've posted anything. To be precise My last post was on March 13. After that I became too occupied in other grown-up stuff. I forgot how therapeutic photography and trekking is to me. I will do my best to keep this passion of photography and trekking alive.

So this is the famous "konkan kada" of the . This fort is a must if you are an avid trekker or who loves camping. This cliff has an overhang. If you are a thrill seeker you must lie down on the cliff and look down. 😆 The view is obviously breathtaking and the overall experience of the fort was phenomenal.

P.s I took a lot of time to post this because..... Because nothing.. I tend to procrastinate a lot.

It really hits you when you step outside in the WesternGhats and realize how small you are. It doesn't matter if you are a multi millionaire or just a commoner. You are a mere organism compared to the nature around us. So when you get time try to admire the beauty of it rather than cribbing or destroying it. It's just that simple "Admire the nature and protect it"

Photography for me is FREEDOM and INDEPENDENCE.

sounds a little silly, I know.

This photo is perfect example of what I want to say. I chose my own path and came to Marina Bay Sands. Others from my group thought it was a waste of time and money. If I had been under the influence of others I would have never captured such beauty. More importantly, I was free; I enjoyed the company of 500+ strangers and a beautiful country which is Singapore.

Happy world photography day!
