It started with “Mona kaha hai Sona?” because I asked him to be brought, as Mona was alone and demanding a lot of attention. I initially called him “Sona” because he was ginger, referencing a popular movie dialogue. Since their sounds are similar, I shifted to calling him “Red,” inspired by a character from “The 70’s show.” Later, I called him “Lalu,” the Hindi translation. He is very clingy and seeks attention, which irritates me. He often requests me to smack his butt—I don't know why I began doing that, but he keeps asking for it. If I ignore him, he sits beside me and stares for hours. I pretend not to notice, but he’s persistent, and eventually I give in… this guy has figured me out.

While our ancestors fought the freedom struggle, never would they have imagined the state of our state now… The privilege we have… No famine, development and tolerable policies … But the tax brutality remains… Police brutality and the brutality of power from the civil servants and the politicians remains… We were free for a while … we are not the same today … The racism of caste, colour, language and the part of the country to which we belong to still haunts us… There is no value to the life of a commoner … No accountability or check of power for the civil servants and the politicians… People who don’t understand the responsibility that comes with the powerful seat the sit on still continue to hold the seat and replace themselves with a bigger jerk on the seat … yet it’s nice to be free from the British rule of selfishness …
