The Rocky Sofa

In nature we seek solace, we want to embrace our truest self unfiltered, unconditioned. Because nature does not differentiate or distinguish between a man and a woman, an animal or human. It just is, compassionate towards everyone the same way. No one is above no one below, everything right from the rock to the river, mountains to the seas, are the same. They may look different but all the same.
Much of the inspiration that we see in our lives has come from nature, the spirals, the curves, symmetry, asymmetry, binary, non binary etc.
All you need is to perceive it to see it unfiltered and raw without any intellectual bias.
Similarly every human in his/her/their own way expresses themselves in unique ways and that is being true self not identifying or shaped by any ideas or ideologies.

Portraits/Pictures from Yakshagana festival.

I had the privilege of attending this festival in mid September this month. In the festival the artists perform the folk dances based around Indian folklore depicting the Yakshas.
Ideally the festival traditionally happens from dusk to dawn according to my limited knowledge. This festival was held in the temple premises where the local community gathers to witness the artform. The folklore performed can range from Ramayana, Mahabharata, this particular performance was based around the story of Goddess Durga and Mahishasura which resonates with the onset of Navratri festival/Durga pooja.
To me as a q***r this translates to the emergence of the feminine, an onset to celebrate the femininity within all of us, being born a man/woman does not mean we are associated with just the form. Inside you can be more feminine being a man and masculine being a woman.
The conditioning that we are born around and the way roles are assigned based on gender, nationality, creed etc. only limits the true potential of blossoming as a full fledged human being that can be anyone an artist, a musician, a yoga teacher, a painter, a vendor, a shop owner, an IT professional etc.
Only when you are aware and understand what you are you are open to new possibilities.
Let's be more than what we are made/conditioned to be.

Love & Grace 🙌🏽❤️🙏🏽

FACES/MASKS

We have various masks, for every new situation a new mask. To be in a society we put on a different mask, to be in a family a different one, to be in a work situation a different one. We have evolved to understand our nature in a different setting and situation that suits our surroundings at that moment in time.
Unconsciously though we tend to think that the masks that we have on are our real self or our true nature. What are we without this mask ?
What is our real essence, our true nature !
When you come across this reality everything will eventually fall off in your understanding of the world around you. Be it relationships, friends, family, peers, teachers etc.
All that you know is with a limited understanding of the world that you have seen and experienced, a mere play of your memory, thoughts and emotions.
Beyond these layers is your true being your real vulnerable naked self and surrendering nature a part of the cosmos itself in the making without a sense of right or wrong.

Making of Cob

Pictures
1.Bottle showing Soil, Silt & Clay to understand the composition of earth.
2. Sorting the earth - removing stones/pebbles that may affect the quality of earth and can also hurt your feet.
3. Cob wall - Made of waste glass bottles and cob stacked over one another which has been converted into a platform.
4. Section of the cafeteria wall - Bamboo as horizontal layer running perpendicular to locally sourced wooden/timber poles stacked with cob on both the sides and plastered with lime & sand mix.
5. The Cafe with the roof that's converted into a living roof & Ankit from .mag
6. The Cob Oven.
7. Converting the section of the land into the kids pool using rocks available on site. .cado checking structural integrity of the rocks.
8. Untying the frame ._azhagumuthu
9. Mixing of earth with adding lemongrass (available in the region) and water in proportion.
The proportion of the mix of earth and straw and water may depend on the condition of the locally available soil and may change. Easy test - take the mix in hand and hold it, the mix should not come apart and should hold in place.

There's a lot more to this mountain/mountain range in terms of biodiversity and the sheer amount of flora and fauna that needs much study. This is also a vulture conservation area. This region has seen a significant decline in population due to widespread use of diclofenac (cattle drug) after which conservation efforts were carried out.

G.O.A.T
The outlines of the external being does not define what it is to be truly human.
Sculpting your inner being is a step by step process often masked underneath the outer shell of what we identify as just the skeletal mold, to carve and to unmask is true art and only the skillful/trained sculptor can shape it. To be trained in this art of sculpting it needs training, focus, involvement and a certain distance.

I never really climbed the mountain, what was really happening during the whole process was more. Every step, every breath was just a reflection of the internal process, the discomfort a reflection of my own mind and realities that are there to confront and heal.
I can tell you how beautiful the valleys and the views are and how clean and thin the air is and the purity and coldness of the water. But, I would like to tell you something more real that there are things that bother, there are things that you are brought face to face with often the desires/thoughts you want to ignore and get past.
Every step hence that was taken was a confrontation of the self.
It was never about climbing and getting to the top and how fast I can climb. It was more about knowing when to slow down, when to rest, when to say no and knowing the limitations that bind us all and take care of the body and the mind irrespective how situations are and know that healing can take time.
It was an understanding that the responsibility of oneself is their own and the surroundings may be different for everyone and everyone can have their own experience of things in life.
It was getting to know that things may not be conquered but can be ascended and descended step by step, some may run along the way, some may get injured, some may feel breathlessness and some may just joyfully walk through it all.
Not every body and mind is the same and still every one is a reflection of their own understanding of life.

Architecture and spaces become what they are because of the people who utilise them and some spaces have the energy to transform them as only with love and devotion one may truly transform and transcend all odds.
In the last picture people have written their desire for family, friends, passing their exams and some want someone close to get better. Everyone is hoping for something that makes them feel pleasant and people around them are joyful.
In yogic tradition there is something called kalpavriksha (tree of imagination) which can be understood as the mind, as what the mind imagines becomes the reality for many hence much processes worked on transforming the mind and not letting the thought process take over ones real understanding of life or consciousness. In the tradition there is the physical body, the mental body and the subtle body. Much of the process is for the subtle body or what can be understood as soul. But until one has their own analysis or experience about this as no belief can help but at the sametime disbelief also is to be criticised. Only self inquiry can help further understanding with a deep, thorough and a painstaking will to really know.
