Introducing - Pink clouds! A phenomenon recorded only over wetlands!

Scroll through to have a closer look at the species responsible for this jaw-dropping illusion - The Greater Flamingo!

Some years, the wetlands provide the right nutrition to these filter-feeders and turn their plumage bright pink. Allowing them to live up to their Latin name - Phoenicopterus roseus!

Leaving no stones unturned in my search for new species!

The result - A Ruddy Turnstone!

It takes a tedious routine to visit the same sites as often as possible, hours of scouring through flocks of common species, to finally find one individual that makes my heart skip a beat!

Hope new and old birders out there are doing the same to update a rich, citizen science based dataset!

The Small Pratincole is the smallest species in the group of Pratincoles made up of 7 species altogether!

These are fast, graceful flyers that hunt mostly during early morning and late evening hours. Their aerial agility allows them catch their prey in mid-air!

In their downtime, they disappear into the undulating terrain found on the banks of water bodies.

The 3 individuals in this picture are part of a flock of nearly 1000 birds! What a treat it was to be lying just meters away from them.

Another scene depicting harmonized chaos in nature.

Cormorants are incredible underwater fish hunters, and when these individuals come together, they form a large flock that can take on giant schools of fish. Expertly herding their prey with fantastic coordination, making quick work of the bounty scales and fins!!

Here's such a scene where this flock of cormorants gathered under a foggy morning sky. The birds all dove, re-surfaced, and moved across the water in perfect harmony!

This picture is once again, taken with a long exposure in an attempt to catch the harmonized movement of what may look like a chaotic activity!

I recently shared a reel of a flock of painted storks feeding. Here's a still version of the same scene.

After about 10+ years of birding, I've been making an effort to capture moments not in the typical manner. In this frame I've slowed the shutter speed down to capture the motion of these storks that created a pink and purple haze of confusion.
