Breaking News | Thanda Pani Panjgrain, Akhrihar (PMGSY Road)
A retaining wall along the PMGSY road at Thanda Pani Panjgrain, Akhrihar was reportedly damaged late tonight, raising serious concerns among local residents.
According to locals, the retaining wall collapsed at several places despite there being no rainfall. Residents allege that poor-quality construction materials were used, claiming that the wall contained excessive soil and insufficient cement and gravel, making it too weak to withstand normal conditions. These are allegations made by local residents and have not been officially verified.
Villagers have questioned how the structure could fail even before the rainy season and are demanding answers from the concerned authorities. They say that if this is the condition without rain, the road and retaining wall could face even greater risks during heavy rainfall.
Local residents have urged the concerned department and district administration to conduct an immediate technical inspection, investigate the quality of construction, and take strict action against those responsible if any negligence or substandard work is found.
At the time of reporting, no official statement has been issued by the concerned department or the contractor regarding the incident.
