Shard is the tallest building in both the UK and was the tallest in the European Union until the UK’s departure with a height of 310 metres (1,020 ft).

The Needles is a row of three stacks of chalk that rise about 30m out of the sea off the western extremity of the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. The Needles Lighthouse stands at the outer, western end of the formation which was built in 1859, has been automated since 1994. This place was used for British rocket testing from 1956–71. Underground rocket testing rooms are currently being restored for exhibition. It also has two batteries, Old Battery and New Battery. The Needles Battery was a military battery built on the cliff top above the Needles stacks in 1861–63 to guard the West end of the Solent and defend against enemy ships. The new battery was constructed in 1895.
