Hon'ble Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation-cum-Area MLA of Yuksam-Tashiding, Shri Tshering T. Bhutia visited Lamathang village near Khecheopalri under his constituency today.

Fulfilling a promise made during the 2024 election, the Minister reached out to the residents of Lamathang village and interacted with the public regarding developmental initiatives and future plans for the area.

During the visit, the Minister distributed cookery items, including pressure cookers, water filters, and other essential household items to the villagers.

During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by BDO Yuksam Shri San Mam Limboo, Zilla Panchayat Member Sushri Sabitri Rai, Panchayat President of Khecheopalri GPU Shri Sonam Yongda Bhutia, Panchayat Members, and local residents.

Shri, Tshering T. Bhutia Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA, undertook an extensive social visit to several villages, including the remote areas of Yangtam and Labdang. During the visit, he met with families who had recently lost their loved ones, offered prayers for the departed souls, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families during their difficult time.

Later, the Hon’ble Minister also attended a post-function gathering at Tashiding, where he interacted warmly with the local families and extended his best wishes for their wellbeing, prosperity, and happiness.

The Hon’ble Minister conveyed words of comfort and solidarity, assuring the families of his prayers and support. His visit reflected the spirit of compassion, unity, and togetherness with the people, especially during moments of grief and sorrow.

Hon'ble Minister Shri Tshering T. Bhutia inspects upcoming alternative bridge site at Khangchendzonga Waterfall near Yuksam.

Hon'ble Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation and Area MLA of Yuksam-Tashiding, Shri Tshering T. Bhutia, conducted an inspection of the proposed site for the construction of an alternative bridge at Khangchendzonga Waterfall near Yuksam today.

The visit was aimed at assessing the preparedness and feasibility of the project ahead of the commencement of construction work.

Officials present during the inspection included Superintendent Engineer Shri Bikash Pradhan, Divisional Engineers Shri Uttam Basnett and Shri Santosh Singh, Junior Engineers Shri Atul S***a, Shri Dup Tshering Bhutia and Shri Upendra Gurung along with Contractor Shri Jamyang Kunga Kazi.

During the inspection, the Minister reviewed key aspects of the site and emphasized the importance of timely ex*****on. He further instructed the concerned departmental engineers and the assigned contractor to expedite the construction work, ensuring accelerated progress while strictly maintaining quality standards.

It was informed that the final inspection has been completed, and the alternative bridge sanctioned under the Roads & Bridges Department is likely to commence soon.

Khangchendzonga Waterfall, located along Geyzing-Yuksam route is a prominent tourist attraction. The construction of the alternative bridge has long been awaited and is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the area.
