Yesterday was World wildlife day and we couldn't help but reflect on the year we have had since moving to Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary 🙌

Everyday is a new experience living so close to the Wild. Learning about what sustainability and conservation means to the villagers 🌿

We are forever thankful for this journey that we are on 🙏

Before Hirkani there were two queens that set the tone for Sahyadri Tiger Reserve's success 🙌

This song is dedicated to Chanda and Tara the future mothers of STRs tiger population ✨️

Their story is one of resilience, hope and faith.

Resilience since they are are thriving in a BRAND new jungle 💪

Hope since they hold the future of the western ghats in their womb 👸

Faith cause mankind can do better, and is doing better everyday 👌

The day is finally here 🙌 Hirkani is successful and safely released into the lush forests of Sahyadri Tiger Reserve 🐅

The day started early, the teams were calm and Hirkani was her beautiful self. She dominated the landscape immediately rushing into the heart of the forest.

Today she roams the loft mountains freely, hunting big game, completely in her element 👌 👏

We await the day when both the Tigers meet. Stay tuned for regular updates ✨️

Meet Madam Badmash Bulbul! 🐦

The latest thief in the Jungle office 🤨 But how do they manage to consume these spicy treats?

Birds like bulbuls can easily eat even the spiciest chillies 🌶️🐦 because they don’t feel CAPSAICIN, the chemical that makes chillies hot for mammals.

Mammals feel the burn and usually crush the seeds with their teeth, which destroys the plant’s chance to grow.

Birds, on the other hand, swallow chillies whole. The seeds pass safely through their digestive system and are dispersed far away in their droppings, often with natural fertilizer.

This is nature’s clever cycle of life, chillies stay protected from mammals, birds get an energy-rich food, and the plant spreads to new places to grow 🌿
