Delhi | Mumbai The lens has always fascinated me. It’s the perfect frame that entices me, studio or outside.

And for as long as I remember, during my growing up years, I would always visualize things around me, through the viewfinder. My days of experimenting with different lights have helped me get an edge to achieve what I want technically, rather than a fluke. I was associated with CANON for a good long period and hold workshops for budding photographer all over India. Now I am associated with ELINCHROM-India and developed video tutorials for how to effectively use Elinchrom Lights in photography. My experience with Adobe Photoshop is as old as Adobe Photoshop in India. What started as an experiment soon led to obsession. Today, it is like a challenge; every picture that I want in a certain way, I click it in original, minimising the Photoshop work coz I know where the picture would need tweaking on the desk and hence, I eliminate the chance as much as possible.

15 years later, I still love this photograph.
Shot with just one light and two mirrors.
No complicated setup. Just an idea, some experimentation, and the desire to create something different.
Looking back at older work sometimes reminds me that photography was never really about how much equipment we had — it was about what we could imagine with what we had.
And somehow, after all these years, this frame still feels special to me.
One light. Two mirrors. One photograph I never got tired of.
