Before Bappa arrives, he is shaped by hand.
Long before the drums begin and the streets of Mumbai come alive, the making has already begun.

In Girgaon, artisans work patiently with shadu mati, transforming earth into forms that will soon become part of homes, mandals and memories across the city.

These frames caught my eye somewhere between the making and the becoming — Ganesha emerging through layers of clay, ornamentation, shadow and craftsmanship.

Before the celebrations.
Before the aarti.
Before the procession.
There is the making.

Ganpati Bappa Morya. 🙏
