I spent a couple of years in during my DJing days in 2004-05. This city has so much history and appeal that I felt I needed to capture its essence.
I was lucky enough to get a chance to do exactly that recently and had just a day to do it. Above are glimpses of the , the biggest of its kind in India.
We visited , a traditional potters’ colony. Kolkata is famous for being a sculpting hub as it not only manufactures clay idols for various festivals but also exports them. As nears, Kumortuli transorms itself into a hive of perpetual activity.
Later in the day, we took a ferry to Howrah and witnessed some awesome street performers and took the fabled ride as well. All this in “A day in, Kolkata”
PS. This is an old post from 2018, since many people here have joined us after that I thought it would be appropriate to post one of my favourite videos again.
