With no formal training in the subject, my skills as a photographer were acquired and developed, hands on, many a times, learning through his mistakes. Throughout this journey, I have explored the medium without any inhibition; challenged and questioned every rule and notion that governs the visual language. It has been this fearless approach in expressing his vision, which has won him the praise of many, national and international accolades, the likes of which include being the first and only Indian to be honored with the Hasselblad Masters Award. I am also the first Indian whose work was chosen for the Swiss light manufacturer Broncolor’s annual calendar in 2012, which for the first time saw the calendar deviate from its standard imagery and print blurry fashion images created by me. I was also featured in Tom Ang’s book ‘The Complete Photographer’ as one of the world's Top 20 Professional Photographers. Since the very beginning, imagery has been the means through which Tarun has conveyed himself. It is the medium through which he has expressed his relationship with the universe that pulsates around him. Even today as we witness My foray into moving images, he has never constrained himself to the limitations of a visual language. My continuing effort at broadening the horizons of his vision has seen me set benchmarks in both still as well as moving imagery. My work as it stands today is a culmination of me journey so far; a diverse body of my experiences. Kick-starting my career with portrait photography, which was austere, yet recognized for the exquisiteness it carried, My portfolio today is enclosed with clients such as Dior, L’Oreal, Emirates, Nokia, Motorola, Pepsi, Hutch, Nestle,Sony, Nike, Reebok and Lakme.He has created images of Bollywood stars, which include the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Abhay Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Vidya Balan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Irrfan Khan. I critically acclaimed editorial work appears regularly in national and international Editorials like Tank, Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, L’Officiel etc. What casts I in the mould of one of the country’s most sought after photographer is a perception of design and beauty that one would find in few. I am shot for renowned designers such as Manish Arora, Rajesh Pratap, Rohit Bal, Sabhyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna, JJ Valaya, to name a few. I have shot all over India besides having traveled extensively to shoot in Greece,Cape town, Paris, US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand and the Middle East.
