Vinay and Smriti had this mix of disbelief and excitement- ‘can’t - believe-this-is- really-happening” kind of happiness. This wedding wasn’t a set of ceremonies, but coming together of two people who had so much love to give, not just to each other but to everyone around them too. My takeaway this year has been that a relationship is a language that two people create together. Words like love, marriage, wedding, comfort, distance, family, life, career make new meanings for each couple. While at work, i tend to find what these words mean to my clients and I'm more often than not surprised by the humbling and compassionate answers I'm given. While I've been dealing with a need to find more fulfilment and happiness in my work, what I have been reassured by has been the many languages I've been able to understand. The thoughtfulness of two people I'm working for and how they choose to make a world and life of their own brings me joy and hope. It's overwhelming to contain these delicate learnings I'm so candidly confessed to but I would do it all over again for all my couples.
Here's hoping many couples everywhere learn and make a language of love with their partner and find a glorious day to hold moments of it in the folds of their silks, joy brimming eyes and ear to ear laughs.
Here's also hoping that many of us find this language and meaning that we share and build with a partner and that a photo I made becomes a totem for it.
