In the blistering afternoon heat of 2025, on our way to Bandhavgarh National Park, we witnessed a moment that was hard to ignore. Our guide, Abhay Kewat, drew our attention to a roadside scene—a wild langur engaging not with its natural surroundings, but with something we had left behind.
This photograph goes beyond wildlife; it reflects our own impact.
A forest-dwelling animal, holding a piece of human waste, becomes an unsettling reminder of our footprint. What we discard doesn’t vanish—it finds its way into their habitat, often becoming part of their daily struggle.
This World Environment Day, let this image speak:
Nature can exist without us—but it is increasingly burdened by us.
Leave nothing behind—except respect.
