In the ancient town of Mahabalipuram, there lies a giant boulder that defies all logic—Krishna’s Butterball. Perched precariously on a steep hill, this massive, 250-ton rock looks like it could roll down any moment, but it hasn’t moved for over 1,200 years!
Legend has it that Lord Krishna, the mischievous god known for his love of butter, once dropped this divine snack from the heavens. The boulder has stood stubbornly still ever since, much like how Krishna was always elusive with his playful pranks.
Even kings and emperors, like Pallava ruler Narasimhavarman, tried to move it, but not even elephants could budge the rock. Today, it serves as a reminder of the magic that lingers in everyday things and invites visitors to marvel at the mysteries of both nature and divinity.
