“Nine colours.
A few quiet minutes.
A memory that will last a lifetime.

The Indian Pitta doesn’t sing for the camera or pose on command. It appears when it chooses, reminds you how magical our forests are, and disappears just as quietly.

These are the moments that keep me coming back into the wild.”

Not every love story is loud. Some are whispered between leaves. 💙🌿

Hidden deep within the forest, this pair of Black-naped Monarchs has built a tiny cradle where the next generation quietly waits. Every few minutes, one returns with food while the other stands guard. No applause. No audience. Just endless teamwork, trust, and patience.

For us, it’s a photograph.
For them, it’s everything.

Sometimes the greatest moments in the wild aren’t dramatic hunts or fierce battles—they’re these silent promises of life, unfolding one careful visit at a time.”

Do you know which one is male and which one is female??

Every successful hunt tells a bigger story.

It’s breeding season in the Western Ghats, and these tiny forest jewels are on an endless mission—collecting insects, frogs and other prey before disappearing into the rainforest to provision their hidden nest.

Nature’s smallest hunters often work the hardest.

The Green Munia.

Often called the ‘Emerald of the Aravallis,’ the Green Munia is one of India’s few endemic finches. While Mount Abu remains one of the most reliable places to see it, its fragmented populations are a reminder of how vulnerable our grassland birds have become.

We had just returned to the Halduparao FRH, dusting off after the morning drive. While the Collared Francolin was technically on my checklist, we hadn’t gone out specifically looking for it, and honestly, I didn’t really expect to cross paths with one today.
We were busy unloading the vehicle when our guide suddenly paused and pointed to the tree shading our rest house. “Look there,” he whispered.
And there it was. Not deep in the forest, but waiting right above us. It’s funny how you can scour the wilderness for hours, only to find a gem like this perched quietly in your own “backyard,” spotted thanks to the sharp eyes of our guide.
