Water Life Texture

In the quiet rhythm of water life, a bird perched serenely on a half-submerged branch, its presence doubling in the glassy stillness below. Ripples cradled the reflection-feather, twig, sky-forming a delicate echo of nature’s choreography. Surrounding trees leaned inward like old companions, their mirrored limbs sketching silent poems on the water’s skin. Speckled green and soft mossy patches drifted like watercolors spilled from the forest, layering the surface with depth, texture, and breath. It was a landscape of reflection-real and imagined-where water carried the whispers of everything it touched.

Discophora lepida or southern duffer
Discophora lepida, commonly known as the Southern Duffer, is a striking butterfly native to South India and Sri Lanka. Belonging to the Morphinae subfamily of the brush-footed butterflies, it is known for its velvety brown wings adorned with pale blue spots in males, while females display more prominent and numerous blue markings. With a wingspan ranging from 80 to 104 mm, this elusive species is often spotted in the dense forests of the Western Ghats. Its larval host plants include various bamboo species such as Bambusa and Ochlandra, reflecting its close ties to moist, shaded habitats.
