Giant River Otter (Pteronura brasiliensis)

It's always fascinating watching otters in their active and playful demeanor. This was my first experience with the otters of the pantanal and they didn't disappoint. It's hard shooting them as you never know which one to look at as their heads pop out of the water. This otter is just a juvenile, the adult that caught this large fish and actually passed it over to the youngster which obviously had a great time

Was lucky enough to be staying in a resort that had a pair of nesting macaws. These are definitely up there with my favourite birds their stunning blue and yellow definitely stands out in the jungle

African Elephant (Loxodonta africana)

Despite being large the African Elephant has incredible dexterity. Elephants will grab even the smallest plants without looking but instead through feeling. They then grab the shrub with their trunk and if it's particularly stubborn will give a light kick with a foot to pull it from the ground before devouring it

Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta)

This Hyena was hiding a kill in water to try to mask the smell to keep other predators away. In the end and after a full stomach the Hyena gave it's kill up to a committee of vultures. It didn't however leave without a snack
