What more do you want after getting 2 out of the last 3 in the same frame and that too at a main station? πŸ₯Ί
2 WAP 7s, 2 WAG 9s, 2 WAG 7s and if you live in ER, ECR region even 2 WAG 12Bs are common but 2 WAM 4s side by side in 2021 was all luck. .
Shot Description :- Odd Consecutives - ASN WAM 4 21387 preparing to leave Sealdah platform 12 (Ex 9B) after 02313 Sealdah - New Delhi AC Special (Rajdhani) departed while ASN WAM 4 21385 stands detached from the rake of 03185 Gangasagar Special after shunting it to platform 11 (Ex 9C).
The station building and the Utkrist SLR of 03185 is giving the frame a matching look. πŸ€ŽπŸ’›
These Asansol Godfathers were very lucky to work together, here in Sealdah Station, before retiring from service and we consider ourselves the luckiest to see them working together. πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›πŸ€ŽπŸ’›
Those who visited Sealdah between December '20 to February '21 may have seen these WAM 4s along with 21380 doing shunting duties but how many spotted them together is the main question.
Sadly we won't we see any more WAMs in normal duties. They are either in queue for scrapping or modification. Long Live WAM 4. ❀️πŸ₯Ί

In the days of WAP 5s, WAP 7s and WAG 9s no one wants to miss a WAM 4 if it is within their sight. Same is with our youngest member too. He spotted a WAMMIE and immediately clicked it. Counting its last days, WAM 4 21387 homed by Asansol ELS, lying dead at BWN UP yard🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. This is one of the last 3 WAM 4s which are currently operational as WAM 4 class. These 3 locos are now limited to shunting purposes. Don't know how long will they serve us as WAM 4s. The Glorious days of WAM 4 will last forever in every Railfan's heart. ✌️😊

Unique in all aspects:
1. The train with least travel time from Kolkata to Delhi on paper
2. Running with old ICF Rajdhani coaches, one of the very few trains remaining with such rolling stock, and thus cleared to run at 130 kmph
3. Having AC Chair Car coaches for an overnight train journey of nearly 17 hours, owing to the initial concept of Yuva trains catering to people within 18-45 years of age and thus the name "Yuva".
Presenting to you all the 1st Yuva Express of Indian Railways, 12250 Anand Vihar (T) - Howrah Yuva Express, hauled by NCR/Kanpur-based WAP-7 #37146 moving towards Howrah at good speed delayed by nearly 2 hours. Sadly, this train has been cancelled permanently in the recent Zero-based Time Table (ZBTT) released by Indian Railways in 2020. Thus, all we can do is revisit the nostalgia associated with this train.

Undoubtedly one of the most successful Locomotive class of Indian Railways. A Locomotive class with glorious past. Developed by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works in the year 1970 WAM 4s were produced till 1983. The handsome WAM 4s were once the most active class of electric locomotives on IR tracks. With various liveries, it was a treat to watch them. As of now few WAM 4s of ASN can be seen doing shunting duties in and around Sealdah station. Most of them got scrapped, few got converted to dual mode Shunters (WCAS) and few were used for developing WAG - 10.
In the picture we have TATA WAM 4 21354 inside TATA ELS ready for departmental shunting(life after retirement). Picture was taken just a week after 21354 was taken out from mainline services. On the left side of the picture you can see TATA WAM 4 21317 in a poor condition ready for scrapping. The last WAM 4s to do mainline duties were TATA WAM 4 21393 and 21397 in February 2020. Tomorrow we all will be celebrating Bengali New Year. So before Poila Boishakh team RailPixel brings you a frame which is already rare but still can be witnessed in and around the stations of Kolkata. With Electric Locomotives shunting rakes to/from the platform and WDM 3A, WDM 3D and WDG 3A are too in the shunting fray it is very hard to find these Chotu Shunters. In the picture WDS 6R 36218 of Howrah Diesel shed, which is nearing its codal life, shunting out some High Capacity Parcel Vans from Howrah New Complex Platform Number 18. Most of the Shunters (WDS) are being gradually taken out from services and will be history soon.
