Nature's intricate beauty in every leaf.

About this photography-

Dracaena reflexa is a tree native to Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, and other nearby islands of the Indian Ocean. It is widely grown as an ornamental plant and houseplant, valued for its richly coloured, evergreen leaves, and thick, irregular stems.

Traditional medicine practitioners of Madagascar have long believed Dracaena reflexa to cure malarial symptoms, poisoning, dysentery, diarrhea, dysmenorrhea, and to be useful as an antipyretic and hemostatic agent. The leaves and bark are mixed with parts of a number of other native plants and mixed into herbal teas. Its effectiveness in any such treatment remains unproven.

Esplanade Mansions: Where Elegance Meets Waterfront Luxury 🏙️🌊

About this photography-

The Esplanade Mansions is a heritage building located in the Indian city of Kolkata, on the Esplanade Row and Marx Engels Beethi Road crossing, opposite to the Raj Bhavan. It was one of the buildings owned by Jewish businessman David Elias Ezra. The residential building was built in the Art Nouveau architecture style.

Today it is owned by Life Insurance Corporation and houses commercial, railways and other government offices.It is the sole Art Nouveau building in the city. A blend of Art Nouveau and Edwardian architecture can be seen in the corner tower and cupola. It has circular balconies and arched windows. The residential property has 24 flats. It is listed as a Grade-I heritage building by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

The Victoria Memorial is renowned for its stunning architecture, combining elements of British and Mughal design. It was designed by Sir William Emerson and built between 1906 and 1921.

The memorial was constructed in memory of Queen Victoria, who was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Empress of India.

The main building is made of white Makrana marble, which was imported from Rajasthan. It gives the monument its distinct white appearance.

Pandal-hopping adventures during the joyous Durga Puja.

According to the Hindu Mythology, Goddess Durga emerged from the collective energy of all the Kings and Gods as an embodiment of Shakti or divine feminine power, to destroy demon Mahishasura; who was blessed to not be defeated by any man or god. The name Durga in Sanskrit means 'the impenetrable'; she exists in a state of self-sufficiency and in ultimate power. This powerful form of Mother Goddess is highly revered in Kolkata which is why her return is celebrated with much grandeur and ceremonies.

Connecting Kolkata: Captured the beauty of this iconic bridge.

About this photography-

The Howrah Bridge is a balanced cantilever bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. Commissioned in 1943, the bridge was originally named the New Howrah Bridge, because it replaced a pontoon bridge at the same location linking the cities of Howrah and Kolkata. On 14 June 1965, it was renamed Rabindra Setu after the Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, who was the first Indian and Asian Nobel laureate. It is still popularly known as the Howrah Bridge.The bridge does not have nuts and bolts, but was formed by riveting the whole structure. It consumed 26,500 tons of steel, out of which 23,000 tons of high-tensile alloy steel, known as Tiscrom, were supplied by Tata Steel. The main tower was constructed with single monolith caissons of dimensions 55.31 m × 24.8 m with 21 shafts, each 6.25 metre square. The Chief Engineer of the Port Trust, Mr. J. McGlashan, wanted to replace the pontoon bridge, with a permanent structure, as the present bridge interfered with north–south river traffic.

Blossoming Beauty: Capturing the Elegance of Oxalis Flowers 🌼

About this photography -

Oxalis debilis, the large-flowered pink-sorrel or pink woodsorrel, is a perennial plant and herb in the family Oxalidaceae. Its original distribution is South America but has become a very cosmopolitan species, occurring in all continents except Antarctica. It can be found in both temperate and tropical areas.

Aureoreticulata has attractive variegated leaves with flowers that are pinkish purple. This cultivar is also named ‘Gold Veined Oxalis’ with attractive yellow vein foliage. The symptom is associated with the presence of a begomovirus. This virus, designated OxYVV, is transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci.

Trimezia northiana, synonym Neomarica northiana, also known as North's false flag or walking iris, is a flowering plant, native to Brazil, with a rhizomatous rootstock, belonging to the iris family, Iridaceae.

Plantlets grow at the ends of the flower stalks. As the plantlets grow, their weight causes the stalk to dip to the ground where they take root.

Nature's Crystal: The Pristine Jewel of Rivers.
About this photograph-
One of the cleanest rivers in India flows through the three main tourist destinations of Meghalaya. Primarily it flows on the border town of Dawki; that’s why it’s also known as Dawki River to some people. This tourist spot is mainly known for its iconic bridge. Moreover, tourists can also enjoy up-close views of a neighboring country here. The other two tourist destinations are the resort villages of Shnongpdeng and Darrang.
Due to the absence of human settlement-based waste, this river remains pristine. Also, no mineral-mining effluents are flowing into the river. The water of this river is very clean, so it is drinkable and the main water source of three villages. The villages always ensured that the river remained clean.
