The Asian Emerald Cuckoo, scientifically known as "Chrysococcyx maculatus", is a beautiful bird species found across various regions in Asia. This avian beauty is known for its vibrant emerald-green plumage and is a member of the "Cuculidae" family, which also includes other cuckoo species.
How to identify Asian Emerald Cuckoo
The Asian Emerald Cuckoo is a relatively small bird. It measures around 15 to 17 centimeters (about 6 to 6.7 inches) in length from the tip of its beak to the end of its tail. These cuckoos are quite lightweight. and They generally weigh between 17 to 24 grams and generally weigh between 17 to 24 grams. Rufous Treepie (Scientific Name: Dendrocitta vagabunda) is a Passerine bird and belongs to Corvidae family. The Rufous Treepie is endemic to the Indian subcontinent . Size of Rufous Treepie is around 45-55 cm from head to the tail. The Weight of adult varies between 90-140 gms. A local name for this bird "Kotri" is derived from the typical call while other names include "Handi Chancha" and "Taka Chor" (coin thief). In Bengali it is also known as "L*z Zhola".

The oriental dwarf kingfisher (Scientific name: Ceyx erithaca) of Alcedinidae family is also known as the black-backed kingfisher or three-toed kingfisher. It is the smallest kingfisher species measuring 13 to 14 cm in length and weighting 14 to 20 grams.
Oriental dwarf kingfisher is brightly colored bird like other kingfishers. Upperparts of Oriental dwarf kingfisher are glowing bluish black and underparts are yellowish orange. On the forehead, they have a blackish spot. On the side of the neck, there is a blue patch and just below the blue patch there is a white patch.
