AUS IS! - Recovery mode ON.

Thank you very much to everyone who made it possible for me to cover their activities during the festival and who supported the feed with likes, comments, shares and reactions. 🙏🏼

In case anyone already suffers from post-Wiesn depression always remember: "Nach der Wiesn ist vor der Wiesn" (literally translated: "After the Wiesn is before the Wiesn") ...and Mondays always suck...

🍺 Oktoberfest 2026 – Preliminary Balance 🍻

Around 7.4 million visitors came to Munich’s Oktoberfest over 16 days – a new attendance record. Around 6.7 million Maß of b**r were served, while the Oide Wiesn welcomed approximately 447,000 guests.

Despite the record crowds, the festival remained largely peaceful and relaxed, with the new security concept proving successful.

Don’t miss one of the most traditional moments of the Wiesn today! 💥 At exactly 12:00 noon, around 60 Böllerschützen in traditional Bavarian dress will fire their ceremonial salute from the steps beneath the Bavaria statue.

The loud bangs and clouds of white smoke mark the traditional farewell to the Oktoberfest. The centuries-old Bavarian custom was originally used for celebrations, honours and other important occasions. Today, the salute is accompanied by brass music, followed by the honouring of the state shooting champions and the Bavarian anthem.

And don’t worry - the Wiesn isn’t over yet! The tents, rides and stalls will continue well into the evening.

The deep, unmistakable sound of the alphorns is one of those special moments at the Oide Wiesn. Guests at Festzelt Tradition are lucky if they happen to visit on a day when an alphorn group is performing. The powerful sound carries across the tent and adds a wonderfully traditional Bavarian touch to the Oktoberfest experience.

The Oide Wiesn is Oktoberfest with a little extra soul. ❤️ Traditional costumes, old-time rides, brass bands, historic tents and plenty of Bavarian Gemütlichkeit bring a different side of the Wiesn to life. It feels like a journey back in time - slower, more traditional and full of the charm that makes Oktoberfest so special. A place where old traditions are not just remembered, but celebrated.

The second weekend at Oktoberfest is when things really get crowded. The tents are packed, the b**r gardens are full, and the walkways around the Wiesn can feel like one continuous stream of people. With thousands of visitors arriving throughout the day, finding a free table becomes a challenge - especially in the most popular tents. It’s busy, loud and sometimes a little chaotic, but that’s also part of the Oktoberfest experience.

Heavy in the hand, proudly raised in the air, clinking at the table and somehow always emptying far too quickly. Behind every full Masskrug is a strong Wiesn waiter carrying not just one, but often a whole handful of these heavy mugs through the crowded tents - with impressive strength, balance and determination.

The Masskrug is more than just a b**r mug. It’s part of the ritual, part of the atmosphere and one of the true symbols of Oktoberfest.

Especially on weekends, the Oktoberfest tents can get incredibly crowded. Thousands of people packed together, dancing to the bands, singing, cheering and moving almost like one giant body. At first sight, it looks like complete chaos - but somehow, once the music starts, everyone becomes part of the same crowd, sharing the same rhythm and atmosphere. That’s the Wiesn at its most intense. ❤️

Sundays are the best!

Usain Bolt was back at Schützenfestzelt today, performing “💏🏿 on Fire” by Kings of Leon with Walter Bankhammer und die Niederalmer - just like in previous years. And once again, he had the whole tent on fire! 🔥🍻 Another Sunday for the Wiesn-history-books.

RIGHT NOW, Munich is alive with the Traditional Costume and Marksmen’s Parade! Thousands of participants are making their way through the city centre towards the Theresienwiese, accompanied by traditional costumes, marching bands, flags, horses and magnificent carriages. A fantastic Sunday morning and one of the true highlights of Oktoberfest. 🥨🎺🐴
