Aghaaz 2019 - Alma Fiesta, IIT Bhubaneswar

I know this is not something I usually post but why not. Lately I have started shooting event quite frequently. And here some shots from today’s Alma Fiesta. This event shooting genre is kinda tricky and tough. The constantly changing lights and speed of the model walking makes it really harder to shoot. The best way to cover an event like this is to use total manual exposure control. A prime lens might not be helpful because the shallow depth of field an enemy there. And also the model’s walking speed really matters. If someone is walking very fast then its a challenge for the photographer to shoot with crisp focus.

Although most of these shots have been taken by 85 mm f/1.8 Prime lens they are taken at f/4 (except the first one).

Tip: If you want to use shallow depth of field then wait for the moment when the model stops at the front end.
