Brainfever Bird & A Good Portrait š¦
š¼ļø
A large canopy near my rooftop often turns into yummy food hub for this cutie during this time of the year. Just after the showers, in the dark, drenched trunks of the tree he would come, properly camouflaged, sit and wait for the š to come out of the crevices. The moment he notices, youāll just listen to flattering sounds of the wings, and in the next moment youād find him with a āhard earned treatā in beaks coming back exactly to the same perch.
Here I was sure enough about itās behaviour, so the chances of experiments were wide open. As a photopgrapher, you donāt just ārecordā a bird, you create arts. Whenever there are chances, I try to put my grey matter to work in working out something unique out of the ordinary. And 9/10 times, you can create something out of the box without fail with a very simple technique - Foreground blur.
A couple of things I kept in mind for this shot. Itās just a portrait, nothing much happening in the scene. So came the use of foreground blur. Just find something colourful nearby, focus on your subject, and keep changing angles to include that out of focus element in a balanced manner. It mustnāt look like a distraction. Next comes the selection out of the entire sequence. Amongst the 15-20 images shot in continuous high shutter, I choose this specific one for the final processing. Why? Look at the open beaks. Everything were exactly same in all those files in sequence, but itās that beak position, bringing life to frame like a magic!
Again, we donāt record. We create artworks.
All the best to your creative soul for your next birding! š¦šā„ļø
