I got to do some fun work last week surveying for American Goshawks on Vancouver Island. I was lucky enough to get to see two nests with large chicks and even one parent bird. Hopefully these little ones will grow up and help keep the Coastal goshawk going...

Flammulated owl. Despite having to leave the Okanagan fairly early this spring I was still able to find an early Flammulated owl calling before sunset.

I haven't had much time to try for swallow shots this spring but I managed to snap a few keepers while out for a walk the other day. The first two are male and female violet-green swallows and the last two are of a cliff swallow.

Lots of surfbirds and Black Turnstones around Hesquiat now and both species are slowly transitioning to breeding plumage like this little borb.
