Jaisalmer Fort aka Sonar Kella !!

The town of Jaisalmer stands on a ridge of serene yellow sandstone and is shrouded by the beautiful Jaisalmer Fort. It was in 1156 that Rawal Jaisal built the very first fort, named it ‘Jaisalmer’ from his own name and declared it the capital of his kingdom. It is recognized as a famous World Heritage, and this fort city consists of a majestic royal palace and several ancient Jain temples.

Many houses and temples of both the fort and of the surrounding town, are built of well-sculpted sandstone. The city lies right amidst the vast expanse of the Great Indian Desert, the Thar Desert. It is the administrative headquarters of Jaisalmer District, which belongs to the culturally gregarious and world-renowned state of Rajasthan in India.

Jodhpur, city of colours is famous for its heritage,culture,architecture and many more such things.The most vibrant thing to experience is the blue streets at the old part of jodhpur city.

If you want to witness that in abundance, then head to brahmpuri just behind the Mehrangarh fort.There are narrow lanes and the houses are painted with blue colours. It is advisable to explore the streets at early morning as it gets busier during day time. Anyone can live in the blue part of the city as many hotels and homestays are available here. But only auto is accessible in the narrow lanes.You can park your car at the main road then take auto to come here. we got up early and explored the insane narrow lanes but anyone can get lost here so always ask locals if you want to go anywhere.

One of the most visited temples after the famous Tirupati Balaji temple of Andhra Pradesh and the Padmanabhaswamy temple in Kerala, definitely has to be the Shirdi Sai baba Temple in Maharashtra. It is said that around 60k to 90k people daily comes to the temple to offer their prayers. Situated very close to Shirdi is also the famous city of Nashik in Maharashtra which is popularly known as the Wine Capital of the country. As a traveler we wanted to visit both these places for a long time, but as soon as we got an extended weekend, we did not want to miss the opportunity to go for a trip covering both the places.
