The forest was growing quiet. The sun was slipping behind the horizon, painting the misty November evening of Kaziranga in shades of gold and amber. I was already on my way out, convinced that the day had offered its final chapter.
Then, from the glowing haze, emerged a wild water buffalo.
For a moment, everything stood still...the winding trail, the ancient trees, the drifting mist and this magnificent giant standing still in the last light of the day as if it belonged to another time.
A reminder that in the wild, the best moments often arrive when you think the story is over.
