"Light is the brush, darkness the canvas, and imagination the art."
‘Enlighten’ – our Light Painting Workshop – wasn’t just about taking photos, it was about crafting stories with light.
In a night filled with sparks, swirls, and shutter clicks, enthusiasts of all levels came together to blur the line between photography and performance art.
From steel wool spirals to fluid trails of LEDs, each frame was a masterpiece born out of collaboration, curiosity, and creativity.
Here are some of the best shots of the workshop. Huge shoutout to everyone who brought their energy and vision – you truly lit up the night!

Hey Photography Enthusiasts,
The Photography Club IIT Kanpur is delighted to invite you to Pixels' 24, our esteemed summer workshop program. This program offers an enriching learning experience for photography enthusiasts of all levels. Pixels' 24 provides a well-rounded curriculum led by experienced photographers. You'll learn how to capture stunning landscapes, beautiful portraits, and even wildlife in action. We also offer workshops on fascinating topics like astrophotography, photographing products, and mastering studio techniques.
The workshop runs for a convenient one-week period, from May 27th to June 4th. You'll gain knowledge through interactive workshops and then put your skills to the test on an exciting photowalk guided by the professional artist.
To make the experience even more engaging, we will host a competition to test your newfound skills, and winning participants will receive prizes.

Greetings everyone!

As part of the workshop we extend you a warm welcome to the Day-4 of the workshop which will be a professional lecture by one of the most renowned Indian photographers Prashant Godbole . He is a professional photographer with a career spanning over 30 years, has worked with almost every top agency in India and has won over 250 awards like Cannes Lions and many more prestigious awards. His photographs are simple, minimalistic and very artistic and what more?

This professional lecture is open for all the campus people. Same as the entire workshop, there are no pre-requisites. We sincerely invite and encourage you to be a part of this enlightening lecture. The details of the event are as follows:

Photography Club brings you The Photography Tourney. The event consists of two unique competitions - Snapshots & “Maybe like this?”

Snapshots:

This is a theme-based competition in which you have to click photos based on the themes which will be released day-wise. So,

Buckle up yourself and take your best shot.

“Maybe like this?”

This is a timed and a group event with 4 people per team. We'll be giving you a random prompt. All you have to do is gather up your friends and take a photo representing the given prompt.

The winners of each competition will be featured on our Instagram and page.
So, sit tight and grab the opportunity to show your creativity and enthusiasm.

Greetings from the Photography Club, IIT Kanpur,

Photography knows no leaps and bounds. It encompasses the entirety of our thoughts, emotions, and creations. Photography reflects a person's inner self and connects one's thoughts with another's emotions.

Through an adapted version of its annual summer workshop 'PIXELS', Photography Club invites you to explore your creative side and capture the beauty around you.

PIXELS is a series of workshops and events such as Photowalks, Artist visits, fun challenges etc. We will start from the basics and progress to the advanced levels and various aspects of photography, such as rules, techniques, genres, compositions, and so on. The events are open to anyone who has ever wanted to learn photography.

Upcoming event: Workshop on basics
Date: 28th and 30th September
Time and Venue: 7-8:30 PM at L5

The following topics will be covered in the workshop:
- Camera handling
- Scratch to Advanced Lectures on Composition, Colour Theory, etc. \s- Post Processing (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom)

Followed by the workshop we'll be having a few challenges in the upcoming break.
A professional lecture on 8th and 9th of October along with a PhotoWalk.
A series of online talks with the Artists is also waiting for you. It will be a whole lot of fun experience for all of us.
So do participate to revamp your Photography skills, creativity and enthusiasm.

Ever wondered about painting without paints? Let’s dive into the ‘shiny’ and gleaming realm of ‘Light Painting Photography’ this 31st.

Photography Club brings you a hands-on workshop ‘EnLighten’ on 31st May 2022.
This workshop will be a great opportunity to learn and explore the art of light-painting. You will be learning how to create astounding frames using various fun techniques. and even if you are absolutely new to photography but have the interest to explore, this will be a great opportunity to get started.
