This grey pelican was clicked in Kolleru Lake in Andhra Pradesh. This lake faces serious threat from fishing ponds and has lost much of its area to it. It is slowly shrinking and now is limited to a very small protected area. This lake acts as a home to thousands of pelicans and other migratory birds but now their numbers are dwindling.

I am using a reversing ring to capture these jumping spiders at my home. I am starting to do macro photography and before taking an expensive macro lens I thought to explore the macro world with this cheap hack and it seems to be working. Macro world is an amazing world that cannot be seen with our naked eyes and to show the people around you some glimpses of this world and see their reaction is real fun

Got to meet this beauty in the bamboo thickets along the road in North Sikkim. They tend to move in small noisy flocks.

Last year same time I was on my first ever visit to Bandhavgarh National Park in search of tigers and in the afternoon safari we got a treat from this beautiful tigress when she stared us straight into eyes. I still feel the excitement whenever I see the pictures of that day.

ORIENTAL GARDEN LIZARD. It was a cloudy afternoon and it was just about to rain when I spotted this beauty just taking a afternoon siesta on a heap of twigs. This is all I have been doing for the last few months in the lockdown and after that. Afternoon naps are the best and priceless.

This shot was composed on a morning boat ride at Mangalajodi wetlands last winter with . As our boat slowly made its way through the still waters and silence suddenly a pair of Ruddy Shelduck peeked out from the grass swamp. I just loved the contrast of the ducks and the green grass.

The purple-rumped sunbird is a sunbird endemic to the Indian Subcontinent. Like other sunbirds, they are small in size, feeding mainly on nectar but sometimes take insects, particularly when feeding young. I captured this beauty near my house where there are nearly 10-15 of them.

This is a wetland created and maintained by group of companies as a green belt near their industry. Every year many species of migratory birds call this place home for 4 months. The water here dries out 80% during the hottest months. Birds like headed goose, Northern Shoveler, Ruddy Shelduck,Northern Pintails, Gargenes, Sandpipers, Plovers, Red and Green shanks, Spoonbill, Stilts, Painted Storks, Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers call this place home. Also there is a patch of land adjoining to it with big trees and many birds like Ashy Wood Swallow, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Patridges, Bee-eaters, Owls, Orioles, Parakeets, Cuckoo and many more can be seen. But this place in the last 2-3 years is also facing huge pressure from the city limits with people throwing tonnes of garbage at one of the banks and excessive fishing by the locals and cutting of trees for development work along the beach. Also these garbage dumps attract lots of pigs and feral dogs and they threaten the birds and create a lot of disturbance in these waters. We need to act fast and it’s time to give environment the top priority because “Development will make our present better but environment will make our future better”. Re-forestation and Re-wilding is the. Red of the hour. @ Kakinada smart city

Grey heron stole breakfast as the Ibis just helplessly looks on. Grey herons in Mangalajodi Odisha often are seen to be following the Ibis while hunting so that they can just steal the meal. Sad moment but nature is harsh.

These beautiful birds are found in the wetlands of our country and normally their diet mainly compromises of tender shoots of water plants. They live in large groups and during mating season one can see males fighting for territory. # .hd ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
