Hooded grasshoppers feed on tree leaves, and they can become serious pests of teak and sandalwood. Both the nymphs and adults of the species are dull green in color. The pronotum expands into a large sharp "hood" structure edged with yellow-orange, giving them the general appearance of a leaf.

The vast and dense belts of forest and the green carpets with huge trees and the misty winds passing by through the forest is none other but the tropical rainforest of Western Ghats. While working in rainforest and that too in monsoon arrivals you can see the vast array of flora and faunal species. Rainforest is always entices me since my childhood whenever i see any shows in Discovery or Nat geo I can fight any of my family member for that remote to see the rainforest of Brazil.

One of the remarkable species of rainforest is Malabar gliding frog (Rhacophorus malabaricus), the term "gliding" frog refers to its ability to break its fall by stretching the webbing between its toes when making leaps down from the treetops. It can make gliding jumps of 9–12 m, a maximum of about 115 times its length. I got this species while coming from field on the ground, as we are working in a rainforest I am very eager to find this species cause it’s one of a common findings there and surprisingly it appears in our path and without wasting time we start clicking photographs.

Here is a silhouette of a Gliding Frog.

Ducks were domesticated some four thousand years back. During the long stage under domestication and generations of selective breeding ducks could not retain some of its natural characters. Domestic ducks are polygamous and not selective in their mating behaviour, they mate indiscriminately with the females in the flock. However the wild ones are monogamous which means exclusive pairing of one male and one female for the breeding season. Ducks prefer to mate in water while swimming though they can also mate successfully on land.

‘’What you are looking at even I too have hands to eat’’
When I am clicking this beautiful bird, it is giving me a expression like that. Most of us will see this bird Rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) in a pet store or in a cage as someone’s pet. Along with other parrots, they have been imported into our country and other countries because people like them as pets. Not only are they beautiful birds but they are very smart and can be taught to talk.
Putting them in a cage is equal to the taking their life, they look more beautiful in wild as in cages, they are meant to live their lives free like us so let them be…

Life is very difficult do deal in harsh summer for humans, we required A.C’s, coolers and many more things to protect our self and to spend our days as normal life, but have you ever think about the animals what they’ll do especially birds.
So many times I have seen that during flight they just fell down and the reason is increasing temperature which birds can’t resist. This thing is also applicable in the case of migratory birds they are not visiting the places where there is a rise in temperature or they changes their migratory routes to other places.

So we have to start thinking in such broad way that we can contribute in such activities because animals and birds don’t have A.C’s.
And this little, beautiful bird Dusky-crag marten (Ptyonoprogne concolor) is resting in shade of college building after loosening all its strength.

‘’If you take a closer look in the forest you’ll see sign of a hidden struggle for the survival and for the food’’. This Green Keelback (Macropisthodon plumbicolor) got what it is searching for, we waited for almost 30 minutes to see what’s next than the action begins, the frog was giving a very nice camouflage with the soil color, than it attempts on that frog, its first attempt was missed, but at last the patience comes to the end. And we witnessed the whole scenario when Predator was hunting its prey.
Green Keelbacks are not a very commonly found species, although they are widely distributed. But with rapid deforestation, their preferred forest habitat is apparently disappearing they need.
So now it’s up to us, the Humans to let them be free in their Home and gave some respect to them because they are also living being like us.
