I am a photographer with a great love of capturing moments in nature including landscapes and wild animals, as well as cityscapes. Through my photography I aim to share the feelings of awe and wonder I experience when looking at and being part of the scene I’m capturing. I am based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and am a member of the Toronto Camera Club.

Ruby-Crowned Kinglet - Ashbridges Bay Park. This beautiful bird is incredibly skittish, constantly jumping from one branch to another. I feel lucky to have been able to capture it with this clear view and with its ruby-coloured spot visible. It was a real treat for me to photograph this species for the first time ever.

I am excited and honoured to have received recognition as a Toronto Camera Club "Life Master Level 1" photographer, upon attaining 50 awards in club competitions! Besides being an avenue for presenting my photography, the club's internal competitions have been a true source of inspiration for me by providing exposure to other members' work. I am proud to be part a group including so many talented photographers!

This beautiful Red-Bellied Woodpecker caught my eye yesterday, while hiking in Rouge National Urban Park, at the Eastern edge of Toronto. I love the colours and patterns on this bird, and I was so lucky that it decided to rest on this tree branch for a few seconds, where I could capture its photo against such a smooth background.

Abstract Reflections. I find this to be a beautiful alternative view of Toronto architecture, as seen through the reflections on one of Harley Valentine's three sculptures that make up his Dream Ballet installation. This is situated in front of Meridian Hall, formerly the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, as seen from Yonge Street, south of Front. I like the interaction between the sculpture with its reflections, and the other architectural elements in the frame.

Skylight and shadows, CIBC Square, Toronto. I recently went on a great architecture-focused photo walk with fellow Toronto Camera Club members, led by Todd Murrison. We visited some popular Toronto landmarks, and I tried to find my own unique takes on them, mostly by zooming into specific details I found interesting.

I noticed that being out there with this purpose, I was able to spot many interesting details that I would otherwise just walk by. In this case, I found the physical patters and those created simply by light and shadow meshed together beautifully.

A Brown Creeper in Ashbridges Bay Park. This bird is tiny, and it's almost invisible as it spirals up tree trunks in search of insects. I was lucky to be able to capture it against a soft background that made it more visible!

The beautiful architecture and amazingly intricate designs of Sheesh Mahal (Mirrored Hall) in the Amber Fort near Jaipur, India, left me speechless. This is the most famous chamber in the Amber Fort, built in the 16th century by Maharaja Man Singh I for his queen, so she could feel like she's sleeping under the stars. Apparently, the architect designed it to include thousands of convex mirrors so that candlelight would reflect like a sky full of stars. The fort served as the seat of the Kachwaha Rajput rulers for about 135 years, which ended in 1727, when they moved to the city of Jaipur.

I very much enjoyed the wonderful performance by Madeleine Peyroux and her band members - John Herington on Guitar and Barak Mori on Double Bass - as well as the opening act by singer-songwriter Joy Clark. I loved the intimate and personal feel of the performance, despite having about 1,400 people at the Danforth Music Hall, which seemed sold out. The selection of songs helped convey a message about diversity and human experiences which also resonated well with me. I took the photos with my mobile phone, which has obvious limitations in low light, but hopefully they still convey some sense of the atmosphere.

An awesome sunrise over Jhalana Leopard Reserve, near Jaipur, India. While a leopard didn't make an appearance in front of the rising sun, it was great to see this tree's silhouette, which also had many birds perched on the canopy. It was a beautiful start to a fun day!

Spotted Owlet. This owl is quite small and so well-hidden in its natural environment, I was amazed that our safari guide was able to spot it! I was also lucky to be able to get a reasonable shot in the low early-morning light.
