“Healing begins when you choose yourself
Slow down. Listen inward. Let nature do the rest”
Of late , not sure how many of you felt my absence from social media and in-person interactions. And if you wondered, where was I hiding, I wouldn’t deny that I indeed was. 2025 was brutal, to say the least. Starting with a brain procedure (though minor), followed by a ligament tear in the shoulder and then eventually a frozen scapula that left me incapacitated for good 8 months. After consulting 9 senior orthopedics at 8 most reputed hospitals in Delhi/NCR, multiple physiotherapy sessions, contemplating surgeries and a couple of corticosteroid shots, I finally started recovering in the month of Nov.
I had begun to recover. However, l knew far too well, I desperately needed healing. Healing for the body, the mind and my soul.
And thus, I chose to end 2025 in a calm and serene manner, prioritising myself. For, it was essential !!
After initial hiccups, I decided to go for a naturopathy retreat. In theory, I knew, naturopathy is based on the simple belief that the body has an innate ability to heal itself when given the right conditions. Rather than suppressing symptoms, it focuses on addressing root causes and restoring balance. After evaluating a few options, I signed up for a Naturopathy nature care center called Nimba, approximately 50 Km from Ahmedabad.
The day involved a couple of massage treatments and therapies, acupuncture, physiotherapy, music therapy, evening yoga and incessant walks in between. Not to forget rationed food - in quality and quantity. I stayed on raw fruits and veggies for most part of my stay. No sugar, no oil, almost negligible salt and thoroughly Satvik. Though we were allowed to use phones and other gadgets judiciously, I kept the usage to as minimal as possible. End result : I was able to break multitude of mental barriers and align lifestyle, diet, sleep, and movement with natural rhythms. These 15 days reminded me that healing is not something done to us, but something that happens within us.
I know am late but here’s wishing all of you a very happy new year!! May we be fit, healthy and victorious in the year of horses.
