These are the Kumbha-Shyam Temple and Mirabai Temple situated within the Chittorgarh fort. One simple look and you will be mesmerised, spell-bound by the grandeur and beauty of both the temples. 🤩😇
And once you listen to the history associated with these temples, you’ll thank your ancestors for restoring these to their glory after facing so much of plunder and carnage from the invaders. 😓

1 request - when you visit, please hire a guide because not only they will walk you through the history of the entire fort but it’s also the primary source of income for people of this heritage city. 🙏🏼

We kick started our Manali trip with a visit to most famous tourist spot - Hidimba temple - named after Lady Hidimba, wife of Bhima, mother of Ghatotkacha in Mahabharata.

Hidimba temple was very near to our hotel and is easily approachable on foot, bicycle, motorcycle or a car. While traveling by car, parking is a big issue. Being the most famous tourist spot, it was clad with tourists and localites equally who lined up for a visit inside the temple building.. this place is beautiful, peaceful and serene, must visit when in Manali..

Continuing the travelogue..

Our journey in the toy train to Shimla started to test our patience gradually. Toy train's actual journey time is ideally 5 hours from Kalka to Shimla, however, the train we boarded turned out to be a snail. As after a journey of 5 hours, we were still ~2hours away from Shimla (some technical issue with our train). Finally, we deboarded the train and got a bus which made us reach Shimla in an hour.

From Shimla, there wasn't a direct bus for Manali until 8:30PM. We hopped on a bus at around 2PM to reach Mandi around 7-7:30 PM. And finally we got a bus around 8PM that dropped us at Manali around midnight.

All this hassle for last minute change in plans when we decided to skip our car and opted for a backpacking trip in whatever safe mode of commute we could avail.

Early morning view from the balcony of our room was worth all the tiring journey.. mesmerizing, breathtaking, beautiful, serene.. Loved each and every bit of it.. 😍🤘😇

Dayummm, what a beauty, what a beast..love at first sight and first ride..had to take a break from our travelogue from last 2 posts to share the good news with you all.

Riding gear update all weather jacket with CE level 2 armours on elbow, shoulders and back, chest protectors, sliders on shoulders and a hump protector on the back. Reflectors do their job pretty well and the snug fit makes it all the more sexy and effective.. 🏍️🤘😎😈
