At the Used Car Industry Summit, one thing became clear: the next wave of growth will belong to dealers who adapt faster than the market.

This year’s focus areas were hard to miss: EVs, merchandising speed, team upskilling, and AI as a business necessity.
A few key takeaways:
• Nearly 1M off-lease EVs are expected to hit the market in the next few years, ~300K in 2026 alone. Supply is accelerating fast.
• Used EVs under $25K are emerging as one of the biggest growth opportunities, driven by rising availability and affordability.
• EV buyers are more informed and more demanding. They expect clear answers on battery health, range, software, incentives, and total cost of ownership.
• Most third-party marketplaces haven’t caught up. Key EV details are still missing from search and merchandising experiences.
• Loyalty is shifting. EV owners rarely go back to ICE, but they’re also less tied to a single brand. Experience matters more than ever.
• Social influence is speeding up adoption. One EV purchase often leads to more within the same household, faster, and with higher intent.

The opportunity is massive, but only for dealers willing to adapt quickly.
That’s where technology makes the difference.

At Spyne, it starts with speed to market.
Our Studio AI helps get inventory merchandised and live faster, turning vehicles into market-ready listings so dealers can capture demand the moment units arrive.

From there, Vini AI steps in.
Engaging customers from the first digital touchpoint and continuing across sales and service, Vini ensures conversations don’t drop—handling inbound and outbound interactions with speed and consistency.

The result: faster responses, better engagement, and a smoother path from discovery to ownership.

For dealers, it means more qualified opportunities, stronger follow-ups, and a connected experience from first click to first service visit. The stores that win this next cycle will be the ones that move fastest, communicate smarter, and build loyalty beyond the sale.

The EV wave is here. The question is who will be ready for it.

The best used car dealers in the country are under one roof in Miami this week. The conversations happening here aren’t about what’s coming, they’re about what’s already here.

And every dealer in this room is fighting the same battles.

→ Vehicles sitting off the lot for days before they go live.
→ A team that can’t keep up with inventory that never stops changing.
→ Missed follow-ups and slow responses letting deals walk out the door.

The margin for error is slimmer than it’s ever been. And the dealers who fix this first will own the market.

That’s exactly why Spyne is here, helping dealers get retail-ready faster, respond instantly, and never miss the opportunity right in front of them.

Join us on Wednesday morning for our Retail Roundtable hosted by Todd Caputo.

For the next 2 days, we’re on the ground at the Used Car Dealer Summit in Miami. Come find us and let’s talk.

What really unfolds when top dealers sit down to talk about AI in dealerships?

At Spyne, we brought together leading automotive dealers for a candid roundtable on AI, operations, and the realities shaping dealership performance today.

Joining us were World Car Auto Group, Don Hewlett Chevrolet Buick, and Clay Cooley Auto Group, bringing multiple leading dealership brands together under one roof for unfiltered, on-the-ground perspectives straight from the dealership floor.

We covered:
- Where AI is already driving real impact
- What’s working vs. what’s still overhyped
- Speed to lead gaps and follow-up challenges
- How customer expectations are evolving
- What’s slowing down tech adoption

The biggest takeaway?
Dealers aren’t asking if AI will change the game; they’re focused on what actually delivers results today.

Grateful to everyone who joined the conversation. More coming soon as we continue building with the industry.

Speed is no longer optional, and this April will make that obvious.

If you’ve been on dealership floors lately, you’ve probably felt it.

It’s not inventory.
It’s not pricing.
It’s speed.

The difference between a lead that converts and one that disappears often comes down to what happens in the first few minutes.

This April, Spyne is bringing speed, AI, and real conversations directly to the dealers across 5 events in 4 cities, and countless real interactions.

From Florida to Arizona to Maryland, at events like OADA Annual Convention & Expo, Used Car Industry Summit, DealerPoint, and Digital Marketing Strategies Conference (DMSC), we’re meeting leaders who are rethinking how speed shows up across lead handling, conversations, and follow-ups, and how AI is starting to quietly change that dynamic.

If you’re attending, make sure to meet with our team and see how speed is reshaping modern dealership operations.

“Selling my first car taught me that confidence and genuine passion matter more than any sales pitch.” - Mabel Peralta

Back then, Mabel was a sales consultant at Smythe Volvo when she sold her first car a 2016 Volvo XC90, the first on the SPA platform.

She didn’t really know the logistics of selling a car yet.
What she did know was that she loved Volvos.

So she did what came naturally, she talked to everyone who walked in.

No script. No hard sell.
Just real enthusiasm.

“I was like Rain Man… but for Volvo,” she says.

And customers connected with that.
Her first sale was to a young couple expecting their first baby. Never settling for mediocrity, Mabel decided to make the moment even more special.

She went to Target, bought a onesie, printed an outline of the XC90 on it, and placed it in a gift bag on the center console, along with a handwritten note, so when they opened the car door, it was right there waiting for them.

The look on their faces was something she’ll never forget.

Because for her, it wasn’t just about selling a car.
It was about being part of a life moment.

And that became her approach:
📌If a car is part of a milestone, make it memorable
📌Go beyond the transaction
📌Let your passion lead

When the deal closed, it felt amazing... even if the commission didn’t.

But what stuck with her was simple:

“I can do anything, as long as I’m confident.”

Like most first milestones, it didn’t happen in isolation. Smythe Volvo is where it all started the environment, the people, the early experiences that shape how you learn the business.

Even now that she’s on the vendor side, that first sale still influences how she Mabel up.

At Spyne, we believe these are the stories that don’t get told enough, yet are the ones that remind us what this industry is really built on.

National Automobile Dealers Association was non stop for the Spyne team, but what stayed with us were the conversations.

Almost every dealer was asking the same thing:
How do we keep up with the volume of customer conversations without missing revenue?

Almost every dealer was asking the same thing:
How do we keep up with the volume of customer conversations without missing revenue?

Across the floor, a clear pattern emerged:
📌 How do we reduce call drop offs?
📌 How do we stay responsive after hours?
📌 How do we handle high volumes without putting customers on hold?

That’s where our AI agents really clicked, not as a concept, but as a working solution.

Our live Spyne Flip demos were another standout. Showing dealers, in real time, how their own websites could look and perform on Spyne, that’s when the shift happened. You could literally see the lightbulb go on.

If there was one clear takeaway from every conversation, it’s this:
AI is quickly becoming the operating layer behind modern dealerships.

From launching our industry magazine to reconnecting with customers who feel more like partners, NADA 2026 was a defining moment for us.

We’re continuing these conversations on the road this April:
• Ohio Automobile Dealers Association (OADA)
• Used Car Industry Summit
• Digital Dealer Conference & Expo (DealerPoint)
• Digital Marketing & Strategy Conference (DMSC) Pasch Group

If you’re attending, let’s connect.

“Selling my first car taught me that being kind and knowledgeable is all you really need to do.” - Fred Lennartz

In 2003, Fred was on the floor at Swope Mitsubishi, Hyundai & Isuzu when he sold his first car, a silver 1996 Ford Es**rt ZX2. The customer was Betty Wilson.

What he remembers most is how simple it felt.

She knew what she wanted.
He had it priced fairly.
She liked him, and he liked her.

She was an older woman who didn’t want the usual back-and-forth. There was no pressure, no unnecessary negotiation, just a straightforward conversation that led to a decision.

When the deal closed, the feeling stuck with him:

“It felt like I was in The Club.”

Instead of a big, loud moment, it was a quiet realization of what the job is really about:

Helping someone make a decision they feel good about.

That first sale stayed with him, not because of the car, but because of what it taught him early on:
🎯Trust builds faster than tactics.
🎯Empathy makes things easier.
🎯And sometimes, the best deals are the simplest ones.

Like most first milestones, it didn’t happen in isolation. There were people like Matt Damos and around him, part of that early journey, the environment, and the moments that shape how you learn the business.

At Spyne, we believe these are the stories that don’t get told enough, the ones that remind us what this industry is really built on.

20% of global oil moves through one passage.
Most dealerships aren’t tracking what that means for them, yet.

And rising tensions there could hit dealership performance sooner than most expect. The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just a geopolitical headline anymore, it has real implications for the U.S. auto market. From fuel price volatility to shifts in buyer behavior and tighter dealership margins, the impact is closer than it seems.

As Sanjay puts it:
“Events affecting global energy and shipping corridors can influence the automotive market—in indirect but meaningful ways.”

Here’s how that impact starts to show up:
📌Fuel price swings begin shifting buyer preferences
📌Vehicle shipments face delays across supply chains
📌Demand rises for fuel-efficient sedans, hybrids, and EVs

The ripple effect doesn’t wait; it shows up first in signals most dealerships overlook. The question is: are you tracking those signals early, or reacting too late?
This advisory breaks down what’s happening and what to watch next.

“With Spyne, it takes us just 30 seconds to walk around a car, and we automatically get 12–16 photos from that single walkaround.”

For dealerships today, competitive pricing or proximity alone isn’t always enough. What truly makes shoppers stop, click, and explore is how the vehicle is presented online.

That’s exactly what , Director of Customer Experience at , discovered.

Their listings were live and priced competitively. But something wasn’t adding up. Even with strong pricing and convenient locations, shoppers weren’t clicking on their Vehicle Listing Ads as often as they should have been.
So they made one key change: adopting Studio AI to manage their vehicle imaging and merchandising.

And things started to shift quickly.

With a simple VIN scan, photographers now walk around the car once at a normal pace. In about 30 seconds, the system automatically captures multiple angles, enhances the images, removes the background, and delivers consistent, studio-quality photos within minutes.

No guesswork. No complicated editing. Soon after, Brent’s team noticed shoppers engaging more with their listings, clicking from VLAs to VDPs, spending more time browsing photos, watching videos, and exploring the car tour.

The result? Better informed customers and stronger engagement before they even step into the dealership.

Today, Studio AI is a core part of Brent’s vehicle merchandising workflow.
We’ve already helped 3,200+ dealerships worldwide scale their merchandising with AI and sell cars faster.

If you’re thinking about bringing AI into your dealership’s merchandising workflow, we’re just one call away.

One woman rises, and brings ten more with her. That is the power of .

Across the automotive industry, women leaders are proving something powerful. From the sales floor to executive leadership, they are not just participating in automotive, they are redefining how it grows, how it leads, and how it supports the people behind it.

The movement is exactly about that: women lifting women. Sharing platforms. Opening doors. Passing the spotlight forward.
To every leader who shared her story, nominated the next voice, and continues to move this industry forward, thank you for showing what modern leadership truly looks like.

At Spyne, we believe the future of automotive will be shaped by leaders who reflect the customers they serve. Women already influence the majority of purchase decisions across the industry. When leadership mirrors that reality, culture strengthens, innovation accelerates, and the industry grows.

Today we celebrate the women steering the future of automotive. Tomorrow, we keep building it together.

Sometimes the strongest careers are built by people who were told they didn’t belong.

April Simmons grew up in a small town in Nebraska and discovered the automotive industry right after high school. What drew her in was simple: it was an industry where hard work was rewarded, opportunity was limitless, and no two days were ever the same.

But entering the industry as a young woman came with its share of doubts.
Instead of letting those doubts define her path, April used them as motivation. She moved through the ranks, proving through preparation, performance, and consistency that dedication could overcome any expectations placed in front of her.
That journey through the dealership environment shaped how she approaches leadership today.

Over the years, April gained experience across multiple areas of the business building a deep understanding of operations, digital
marketing, and customer engagement.
Those experiences continue to guide her leadership philosophy:
🎯Hard work and consistency matter more than titles.
🎯Understanding every level of the business creates stronger leaders.
🎯Digital strategy and data are transforming how dealerships connect with customers.
🎯The automotive industry grows stronger when more women are empowered to lead.

Today, as Corporate Internet and Marketing Director at , April leads digital marketing strategy and customer engagement across the organization.
Her journey from a small town beginning to a leadership role in automotive marketing reflects a powerful truth about this industry:
Opportunity belongs to those willing to work for it.
And sometimes the most successful careers begin with one simple goal proving the doubters wrong.

This Spyne celebrates women who lead with a purpose.
