Flehmen response!
The word “flehmen” comes from the German word flehmen, which means “to bare the upper teeth”.
It helps animals detect pheromones and other smells in their environment. The vomeronasal organ, also known as Jacobson’s organ, on the roof of the mouth contains chemoreceptors that help animals process these smells.

A master of concealment, this agile climber effortlessly relaxes atop trees, or silently transports prey to unreachable heights. South Africa’s bush provides the perfect backdrop for this predator, yet spotting it remains an exciting challenge, adding to its charm and allure.
