Birkha Bahadur Limboo, popularly known as B. B. Muringla, was a Padma Shri awardee who made remarkable contributions to the Limboo language and literature. He dedicated his life to the development and promotion of the language, making it more accessible to learners and future generations.
He created hand-written textbooks from primary to secondary levels, simplified grammar, and made learning easier for students. He also developed Limboo comic series based on great leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Chandra Shekhar Azad, and Chittaranjan Das.
In addition, he authored a LimbooโNepaliโEnglish dictionary, designed the Limboo flag (Nissa) and Pagha, and wrote numerous poems and short stories. In 1982, he also contributed to the development of the Limboo script for letterpress printing. In recognition of his immense contribution to Limboo literature, he was honored with the Padma Shri award in 2017.
Without his invaluable contributions, our language and literature would not be what they are today.
