This first frame is in vibrant colours...
The second is in black and white....

Does this mean that the flower has lost all its colour? Does this mean that the red frangipani no longer is red on colour? Or that it's no longer blooming amongst its other cousins and siblings...

Well the good thing is the frangipani does not give two hoots about our opinion. It continues to bloom the way it wants and then it will shed it's beauty at its own pace...

As it's often said, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. HOWEVER that does not mean that my perception of my beauty is dependent on YOUR perception of me. Cause you see, you can always take a call to add/delete the people in your life. The only person we cant add or delete is us.

Btw, the objective here was not to share philosophical gyan. I continue to struggle with the same issues that a lot of us go through. Perceptions of me from people whom I consider important do affect. However, it's when I see the world through the lens, do I realise that's what everyone does, except without using a camera all the time...

The Hibiscus or rose mallow is one of the more popular flowers used for decoration purposes. The national symbol of Haiti, it is also the flower of goddess Kali in Hinduism. It is also used to worship lord Ganesha.

Traditionally worn by Tahitian and Hawaiian girls. If the flower is worn behind the left ear, the woman is married or has a boyfriend. If the flower is worn on the right, it would mean that she is single, or open to a relationship.

The plant has multiple uses, right from food (a delicacy in Mexico), beverages, rope and paper making, amongst others.

There are hundreds of species that can be termed as a Hibiscus ๐Ÿ˜….

The Patola prints, sculpted along the walls of the 'Rani ni Vav' or the 'Queen's stepwell' in Patan, Gujarat.

The Rani ni Vav, is also known as the queen among the all the step wells of India, because of its scale, and the detail put into the sculptures carved song its walls.

Built in around 1000 CE, one of more amazing carvings are the geometroc patola prints. The patloa (singular : patolu) are extremely expensive sarees hand woven by master artisans. Patan was at one time, the hub for anyone wanting to buy one.

These were usually worn by royalty back in the day, and are heirlooms that are passed on from mothers to daughters. The skills required to create one were passed onto within families only, and not taught to outsiders. It can take six months to one year to make one saree due to the long process of dying each strand separately before weaving them together.

Now, it's a dying art, as people prefer to buy machine made clothes. An authentic hand woven patolu would typically start north of INR 100,000.

This time last year, Ira was 4 months old. On the threshold of responding to vibes around her and people too...it's a pure coincidence that she is wearing her panda style cardigan, and the panda soft toy is around...I would like to believe that her cute smile is for the Panda that I gave her ๐Ÿ™‚

Another one where I seem to have captured an element of the universe.... it's said that a person has the capacity to encompass the entire universe, if only they really have the wherewithal and the compassion to do so....

My belief is slightly different. I believe that each person is a unique universe unto themselves, with their own forces of push and pull interacting with other universes (people). Their experiences and thoughts acting as the causality behind these forces. Their limbs and organs as the physical manifestation of what they want to portray to the world. If there is one place where we can look into this magnificent universe, it's the eye. It's the portal that grants you access to the inner most thoughts and feelings of the person.

For instance, I read somewhere, that if you are on a date, and if you want to know if the other person is truly interested in you and enjoying the experience, let go off everything else and look deeply into their eyes. If the pupils are dialated, it's cause they are enjoying their time. Rest all can be faked, but this cannot be faked, cause it's a chemical stimulus...

So when you truly want to understand another person, apart from everything else, observe the eyes, for they are your gateway to another remarkable universe...๐Ÿ™‚

Another one, which makes me want to imagine that I have captured a celestial body. This is how I imagined a pulsating sun would look like... A hot burning core of the sun, that has just given off a powerful pulse of solar energy that's radiating radially outward, with dense clouds capturing the left off heat....

Any guesses what exactly I used to capture here....might be a difficult one. Swipe right to see the object.
Yup...it's a fragrance dispenser which works on the principle of light and heat. This the disc on which you place the water with the oil for evaporation, and below the disc is the bulb which delivers the heat and light. Had a great time playing around with exposures while clicking away multiple photos of this object in a dark room...

The hallowed entrance to the sacred David Sasoon library.
