✨
My extraordinary trip to India was made possible by an invitation from The Pencil Tree Charity based in Australia.
I am constantly seeking small Not for Profit organizations that could benefit from my photography. I searched extensively online and discovered this wonderful charity that is entirely run by volunteers.
The Pencil Tree’s goal is to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds, the slums and remote villages of northern India, receive a high-quality education. The only way to bring these children out of poverty is through education.
The Pencil Tree was established in 2014, as a registered charity and has witnessed numerous success stories, with many students pursuing higher education by attending colleges and universities. One girl actually will become a doctor this year. Now that’s a true success story!
Their work is truly impressive, as I have witnessed firsthand. Very few charities can boast 100% of all donations goes directly to the children. The Pencil Tree can proudly boast that claim.
Please visit their website and take a moment. Consider how fortunate you are, then consider how you can help people who are less fortunate.
Sponsoring a child is an easy way to help, and you can choose from four possible sponsorship options. All donations are tax-deductible.
In a time where we seem to be bombarded with requests for donations, I can assure you that this organization represents the true meaning and purpose of a non-profit organization. I would appreciate it if you could consider supporting a child today.
My first images in this post focus on children from the slums, as they advance through their education, they are transformed into the students you see towards the end of my carousel: focused, energetic young adults ready to take on the world.
Thank you
