Tariq Hussain Keen, contesting candidate from the Inderwal Constituency, along with Bilal Ahmed Khanday, Ex-Sarpanch Nowpachi B, had the honour of meeting the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, to discuss pressing developmental issues of the region, with special emphasis on the Dachhan–Marwah road connectivity.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the long-standing demand and urgent necessity of improving and completing the Dachhan–Marwah road, which serves as a vital lifeline for the people of Marwah, Dachhan, Warwan and adjoining areas. It was brought to the kind notice of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor that inadequate road connectivity has been causing immense hardship to the local population, particularly in terms of access to healthcare, education, markets, and essential government services.
The delegation apprised the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the frequent disruptions on the existing road due to poor condition, landslides, and adverse weather, which often lead to prolonged isolation of the region. They stressed that strengthening and upgrading the Dachhan–Marwah road would not only ease daily commuting for residents but also significantly boost economic activities, tourism potential, and overall socio-economic development of this remote and backward area.
Tariq Hussain Keen emphasized that improved connectivity would play a transformative role in integrating the region more effectively with the rest of the district and the Union Territory, thereby fulfilling the vision of inclusive development. Bilal Ahmed Khanday, Ex-Sarpanch Nowpachi B, also shared ground-level concerns of the local communities and urged for expeditious ex*****on of the road project with adequate monitoring to ensure quality and durability.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured the delegation that the matter would be examined seriously. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure in far-flung and hilly areas and assured that necessary steps would be taken to strengthen road connectivity in the region.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for his time, attention, and positive assurance, and conveyed the hope that the long-pending demand of the people of Dachhan and Marwah would be addressed at the earliest in the larger interest of public welfare.
