🐘 Remembering Noor Jehan
A beloved 17‑year‑old African elephant at Karachi Zoo.
She was rescued in 2009, but in April 2023 she tragically succumbed to critical health issues after being unable to stand for over a week.
Despite urgent care from FOUR PAWS International and local experts, the zoo — widely criticized for failing to meet care standards couldn’t save her. Her death shines a harsh light on the treatment of captive wild life in Pakist an and amplifies calls to relocate her companion, Madhubala, to a sanctuary where she can live in dignity.
Noor Jehan’s story reminds us that captivity demands responsibility — and when we fail, animals pay the price.
💬 Let’s honor her memory by demanding compassion and standards for all zoo animals.
