Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu, lovingly known as Guru Rayaru, was a great saint, scholar and spiritual teacher of the Dvaita tradition. Born as Venkatanatha, he dedicated his life to devotion, knowledge, Dharma and the service of humanity. After accepting Sanyasa, he became Sri Raghavendra Teertha, guiding countless devotees through his teachings, compassion and spiritual wisdom.
According to the traditional account, in 1671, Rayaru entered Brindavana at Mantralayam in a state of deep samadhi. Devotees believe that his spiritual presence and blessings continue to this day. 🙏
Every year, devotees gather to commemorate this sacred occasion through the Aradhana Mahotsava. In 2026, the 355th Aradhana Mahotsava was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur.
From Dwajarohana and sacred sevas to Poorvaradhana, Madhyaradhana and Uttararadhana, the entire celebration was filled with Vedic chants, poojas, alankaras, offerings and devotional programmes.
The Mahotsava reached its magnificent conclusion with Sarvasamarpanotsava, where the vahanas were placed upon a majestic wooden ratha and taken out in the grand Rathotsava. All the utsavams, sevas and special offerings of the Mahotsava were finally offered at the sacred feet of Sri Rayaru. 🛕🌺
Sarvasamarpana — surrendering everything at the feet of the Guru.
