Day 1 of Master the Cube, our Rubik’s Cube Workshop, is officially complete!

Led by Zameer Hussain, the session brought together colleagues for an engaging hands-on learning experience, exploring the fundamentals of the Rubik’s Cube and the thinking behind solving it.

Beyond the cube, the session was a great reminder of the 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

It was a pleasure to have our 𝗛𝗥 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗵𝘆𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 as Guest Speakers for an engaging interaction with final-year students on career readiness, upskilling, and opportunities in the VFX industry.

The session went beyond the usual conversation around qualifications and focused on what it really takes to build a career. From choosing the right career path and preparing for interviews to understanding workplace expectations, students were encouraged to think about the skills and mindset that will help them grow.

Through real recruitment scenarios, they gained insights into how communication, 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 come together when organisations evaluate talent.

As AI and ML technology continue to transform the VFX industry, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 will become increasingly important.

We were delighted to welcome the talented students from Arena Animation to Basilic Fly Studio – Chennai for an insightful industry visit.

Nearly 𝟱𝟬+ 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 explored our studio, gaining firsthand exposure to the VFX production pipeline, studio environment, and the skills required to build a successful career in the industry.

The visit featured engaging sessions by 𝗬𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘃 (𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗥), 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗮 (𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼), 𝗔𝗻𝗯𝘂 (𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻), 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵 (𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽, who shared valuable insights into studio workflows, AI in VFX, real-time production, technical pipelines, and the importance of strong fundamentals through their industry experience.

At Basilic Fly Studio, creativity isn't confined to a workstation or a software.

It lives within the people who bring stories to life every day.

𝗢𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝗷𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘆, our artists and employees across Chennai and Pune stepped away from their screens and picked up crayons instead. Using a simple circle on a sheet of paper as their canvas, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗷𝗶𝘀, proving that creativity has no boundaries and no preferred medium.

What began as a fun filled activity evolved into a beautiful reminder that art is not defined by the tools we use, but by the ideas we choose to express.

Today, these hand-drawn emojis are proudly showcased across our studios, 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰.
