Mouse lemurs are the smallest primates globally, measuring 20–30 centimeters in combined head, body, and tail length.
They dwell in treetops within diverse habitats, including dry deciduous forests, sub-arid thorn scrublands, secondary forests, coastal forests, and bamboo forests.
Mouse lemurs create burrows in tree trunks and have been declared the most endangered vertebrates by the IUCN.
