Another feather in the cap, I can certainly say. Sometime in the summer, a friend's friend from Karnal Flying School called and said they were giving a first-hand experience to fly on a Cessna, and that's it - we kind of killed it. A group of 6/7 friends, mostly new, gathered together and went for the experience.
The walk to the runway is kind of etched in grey, and the first step into the co-pilot seat would never be forgotten. The sheer goosebumps of the flight taking off, with the pilot playing with the joystick like we do with the steering wheel, was another level of feeling. The takeoff seemed easy, while the speed before takeoff seemed to have diminished my pride of the rallies.
Once in the air, it was like, hmm, I wish I could pen, but a true bliss to see things of our size diminish in size and the feeling of having a bird's eye view gives a different confidence. The descent was very exciting, and keeping hold of the joystick seemed like an issue, like the first time one does reverse in a car.
Though it was a 15/20-minute experience, I don’t think this experience can ever be forgotten. Not only that, this again got me connected to some wonderful friends. The journey of life is never ever boring if one is open, and the new friends formed are a great connection even today.
Kudos to the pilots who do this day and night and with so much ease; the amount of switches and controls on the panel was enough to give me a dizzy feeling.
My god, it's like a machine full of light switches and beeps.
