‎اپنے جَہاں کی فِکر اب توٗ کر زرا
‎منظوٗر سب کی اِک دُعا توٗ کر زرا

‎ہستی تِری پہ ہیں سوال اُٹھنے لگے

दिन
बीता नहीं करते,
गुज़रते भी नहीं,
कहीं जाते भी नहीं,
वे बस छिप जाते हैं!
यक़ीन न हो
तो खोज लो
और निकाल लो उनको
बंद पड़ी,धूल से अटी,
ज़ंग से भरी यादों की अलमारियों से!
फुदकते,नाचते-गाते
सब के सब
घेर लेंगे तुम्हें
तुम बन कर!
दिन
कोई मंगल चिह्न नहीं
जो टांगे जायें घर के मुख्य द्वार पर
दिन
कोई शो पीस नहीं
जो रखे जायें
घर के अतिथि कक्ष में
दिन
बेटियां भी नहीं
जो चली जायें
पराई हो कर बेगाने घर!
दिन
न बीतते हैं
न गुज़रते है
न कहीं जाते हैं
वे
रहते हैं हमारे आस-पास ही!
पुकारोगे जब भी उन्हें
निकल ही आएंगे
यादों के पिटारे से
बेतरतीब, बग़ैर पंक्तिबद्ध हुए!
लिपटेंगे तुमसे,चूमेंगे तुम्हें,
गलबहियां लगेंगे लेने
अपना सारा संयम खो कर!
इसीलिए
अतीत हो चुके वे दिन
सामने नहीं आते!
नहीं चाहते वे
कि
वर्तमान पर पड़े उनकी छाया
भविष्य पर हो उनका साया!
थमी -थमी सी
धड़कनों से
दबी -दबी सी
आहटों से
धीमी -धीमी सी
साँसों से
वे
ज़िंदा रहते हैं
चुपचाप
हमारे आसपास
हमेशा!

Photography is a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.
It helps people to See!

In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.

I’ve been photographing since 8 years now. Started with a basic point and shoot! And turned to an SLR when mumma papa gifted me one..
If you’ve been following my posts since a considerable time now, you can tell that Street photography/street portraits is my favourite. The faces, the expression, the body language, it grants me look into their thought process and I naturally start to think about what is happening in the lives of the subjects and try to bring out whatever I can along with the captions, that are sometimes couplets or witty one liners by my mother or my grandfather Dr. H.K. Lall, an Urdu Scholar, or musings by my sister or me.
Pictures like the one here also have their special place, and I loved editing this one!

Our lives are full of moments and photographs keep moments alive, even after they’ve passed.
So everyone should take photographs. Great that almost everyone has access to affordable phones with cameras. This way we can always relive the moments that have long gone!
